iBlogger
So… you’re going on a cross country trip, and you’ve got nothing to do while in the car. You’re worried about your blog not getting updated. What to do? I know! Just pull out your handy dandy iPhone / iPod Touch and open up iBlogger! iBlogger allows you to blog on the go. With iBlogger, nothing will ever stop you from blogging on the go again! iBlogger’s User Interface is very nicely polished. Something the other blogging applications lack. Some of iBlogger compatible with many big blogging websites such as:
- Blojsom
- Drupal
- ExpressionEngine
- TypePad
- WordPress
iBlogger also has optimized plugins that insure simple, easy configuration for the following Blog Hosting Services:
- LivingDot
- WordPress
- My.Opera.com
- SquareSpace
- Xanga
and many more! I have compiled a pros and cons list that you can view below.
Pros:
- On the go blogging
- Great User Interface
- Allows you to enter links to your post
- Allows you to insert photos into your post
- Customizable link in your signature
- Allows you to enter tags
- You can include a location link
- Allows you to select categories
- Works with 3G, Edge and Wi-FI networks
- Secure HTTPS connections (if your blog allows it)
Cons:
iBlogger is the best blogging application available on the App Store right now! iBlogger makes full use of the iPhone / iPod Touch’s beautiful 3.5 inch touch screen. illumineX did an outstanding job on this application! iBlogger is available in the App Store for $9.99, and in my opinion, it is totally worth it if you’re a hardcore blogger. Overall, HawtApps has rated iBlogger a great 8/10.

MySpace Mobile
We all know what MySpace is, and wee all know the App store has a MySpace Mobile application in it right now. But is it any good? I’m gonna have to say no. Here’s a little pros/cons chart.
Pros:
- Fast Logging in
- Quick access to the homepage
- Alerts you to new messages and friend requests
- Easy navigating
Cons:
- Does not show you when you have new comments
- Does not allow you to approve comments
- “View Profile” displays a version of your profile that isn’t even remotely close to what it really looks like
So all in all, it’s better, in my opinion, to go to Safari and log in to MySpace.com from there if you want to approve comments or see a version of myspace that somewhat resembles the actual MySpace layout. Good application, though, but only for basic MySpace users. MySpace Mobile can be downloaded in the App Store for free. Overall, HawtApps has rated MySpace Mobile an okay 5/10.

WordPress
Yes, I’m addicted. I’ve even downloaded the WordPress iPhone application to update this site with while I’m on the go. WordPress has a very nice User Interface. The User Interface is very simple and smooth. With the iPhone’s WordPress application, you can update your WordPress blog(s). Yes, that’s right, multiple blogs. You can use the iPhone’s camera to take a picture and add it to your post. WordPress is the best blogging application I have used so far. WordPress also allows you to password protect your posts, save your posts, and even preview them before posting! Effigent Inc. sure did a great job on bringing WordPress to the iPhone! WordPress is available for download in the App Store for a measly price of free! Overall, HawtApps has rated WordPress a good 7/10.

AIM
Ah, AOL Instant Messenger for the iPhone (also known as AIM)! AIM on the iPhone and iPod Touch lets its users IM each other on the go. The new update, 1.3, includes IMing over Edge and 3G for the iPhone, and Wi-Fi for the iPod Touch. The user interface is very simple and not complex, in my opinion. With AIM you can also: take pictures with the built-in camera and use them as your buddy icon (iPhone only), send IMs and SMS text messages (even with the iPod Touch!), view the expressions and update your buddy list! Whenever you update your buddy list on this application, it will automatically syncs with iChat and vice versa. Unfortunately, because of Apple’s restriction to not allow pushing of third party applications, and AIM’s inability to take use of the iPhone’s accelerometer for landscape viewing, AIM isn’t at its best. AOL did a nice job on the application, though. It’s better than nothing. AIM is available for purchase in the App Store for a measly price of free. Overall, HawtApps has rated AOL’s AIM application a 6/10.
